Cafe Manager - Student Nutrition Organization

As the Cafe Manager for the Student Nutrition Organization, I arranged and distributed a weekly volunteer schedule for members. As an organization, we prepared and sold food items to fundraise over $800 per week.

At the end of the week, the organization had leftover food items. I would then coordinate with Bobcat Bounty, a student run food pantry at TXST, and donate our leftover food to students in need.

Vice President - Texas State University

With the help of our President and Choreographer, we revived our organization and made a better name for ourselves at the university. We gained a lot of recognition from students and faculty, and were able to double our number of student dancers. I was responsible for managing our social media, as well as organizing events within the San Marcos community. We coordinated with the Latin Music Studies department and had annual performances with the Mariachi Nueva Generacion ensemble.

NUTR 4301 Career Exploration
Student Recreation Center - Texas State University

For my NUTR 4301 course, I chose to complete my hours at the Student Recreation Center as a mentee for Mitzie Rojas, RDN, CPT. I was able to complete two mock counseling sessions, where I got to play the role of a dietitian. For these sessions, I was also able to complete an ADIME note as well as follow up with my clients.

Aside from mock counseling, I was also able to observe a Nutrition Coaching Session that the SRC provides to students at a low cost. I also learned more about the relationship between Nutrition and Exercise by participating in group exercise classes at the SRC led by Mitzie.
